Homocystein is recognized worldwide as an independent risk factor for arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Furthermore it is considered a key factor for arteriosclerotic anomalies in transplanted organs and in the blood vessels of patients with renal failure.
This reagent kit allows the simple and specific determination of homocysteine in plasma/serum. Sample preparation is simply a reduction step for releasing homocysteine from its protein binding, followed by precipitation and subsequent precolumn-derivatisation. An optimized chromatographic separation system and dedicated reagents ensure safe and reliable determination in all homocysteine blood collection systems.
